A new heavy-duty flywheel for Yamaha ATV/UTV models!

Anyone who uses or repairs Yamaha ATV/UTV vehicles is familiar with the flywheel issues commonly found on these models. The OEM flywheels use a low-quality epoxy adhesive to secure the magnets to the flywheel body. Over time and after repeated heat cycles, the epoxy deteriorates to the point where the magnets can become loose and come into contact with the stator, causing catastrophic damage.

For years, many repair shops and dealerships have offered low-cost repairs for defective flywheels to help customers avoid the approximately $400 cost of replacing the unit with a new OEM flywheel. While this approach may be attractive from a financial standpoint, it can lead to future reliability concerns.

The most common repair method involves using JB Weld© Marine Blue Epoxy adhesive to reattach loose magnets or install replacement magnets. Although epoxy-based repairs may provide a short-term solution, they can negatively impact the long-term reliability of the vehicle.
