This rectifier/regulator works on the same principle as the racing ignition coil. By achieving a more effective transformation of the voltage from the original stator, this unit achieves a much higher secondary voltage as compared to the original part. The charging voltage itself stays on the same level as the original unit, i.e. between 12.6V and 14.75V, while the output is higher (100W).

In case of scooters with a small battery, the capacity limits of the electric system are usually already reached when the low beam is switched on. When the brake light goes on, the illumination dims, and connecting additional LEDs or even soundboards is not possible at all. In these cases, the rectifier can help by offering more power without overloading the battery.
